Health and Safety

Halton Construction is committed to managing construction efficiently and safely. Health and Safety is actively managed at all levels within the business and a strong team based approach is adopted. All employees regularly receive health and safety training to ensure that they are continually developing their knowledge and abilities.

In conjunction with the health and safety qualifications of our managers and supervisors, we support this by the appointment of external competent Health and Safety Advisors. We have worked with Jennings Safety Services Ltd since 1999 and they annually audit our Health and Safety Management System, a plan is then developed for the forthcoming year to help us meet our objectives and conform to any ongoing legislation changes. The health, safety and welfare of our employees, sub-contractors, clients and anyone affected by our undertakings is our priority.

To ensure that health & safety objectives are met our employee health and safety committee meet regularly to review and monitor our Health & Safety Management Systems. The Health and Safety Committee consists of; Brian Johnson, Emma Gerrard, Paul Redmond, Neil O'Connor, Jessica Mooney, Mark O’Neil (Employee Representative) and Nicola Jennings (H & S representative from Jennings Safety Services Ltd). Our construction operatives are invited to attend the committee meetings, if the agenda is directly related to their personal development.

We are an experienced Principal Contractor as defined in the CDM Regulations 2015. The CDM Regulations apply to both commercial and domestic projects. Depending on the duration, the project may be notifiable to the HSE. We provide construction phase plans, Risk Assessments and Method Statements for projects in compliance with the regulations and implement these plans, to protect all parties involved in the construction

We have recently gained SMAS Worksafe Contractor accreditation as recognised by Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP).
